25 years old man caught with 45 lakhs rupees Hashish

The Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai police arrested a 25 years old person in possession of over five kilo of Charas costing over Rs four lakhs in the local market and Rs 45 lakhs in the international market. The arrested accused is identified as Mohammed Tahir Siddiqui and was arrested on Sunday evening from the Reserve Bank of India bust stop in Bandra Kurla Complex. However another accused is still absconding in the case.

According to the ANC officers they had received a tip off from their informers that two persons would come to deliver a consignment of Charas in the Bandra area and accordingly a trap was laid by the ANC. When Siddiqui came at the spot in an auto rickshaw he was arrested by the ANC officers at the spot in possession of Charas, however another accused in the case absconding.

The ANC officers said that Siddiqui had brought the Charas from Uttar Pradesh and was supposed to supply it in the city to some local traders. The ANC is also tracing those local traders involved in the racket. The ANC has sent the finger prints of Siddiqui for the verification and match with the finger prints department to know about his previous crime records.

Vetal, an ANC officer said, "Working over a tip off we arrested Siddiqui and we are conducting further probe in the case to find out whether he has previous crime record or not. Also we are searching another accused who is still absconding. After the interrogation of Siddiqui the entire network behind this racket will be clear."
