Angry Angre, scared Wagh!

By Pradeep Gupta

Ganesh Wagh, the man who sent Thane Police’s top notch encounter specialist Ravindra Angre to jail is now running scared after bail was granted to the latter by the Supreme Court on Friday.
“Woh mujhe aur mere family ko 100 per cent mar dalega” (He will definitely kill me and my family), is what Wagh told The ADC last Saturday.
This 37-year- old Wagh, a builder by profession, has also decided to shift his posh office located at Raghunath Nagar to a smaller makeshift place at Anand View Apartments on old Agra Road.
Wagh says that, “they have had to cancel their intended visit to his native village during this vacation period. He is not even allowing his children to play with the children of his building and the neighbouring buildings.
Wagh claims that “when Angre had filed his bail plea in the Supreme Court, the latter’s friends and accomplices had called him (Wagh), threatening him with dire consequences if he appealed against Angre’s plea for bail. “They threatened to also kill my family and children and this is why I have not applied for rejection of his bail”, says a dejected Wagh.
Following his complaint to Thane police, he had got day and night police security. But last month, his night security was withdrawn by the Thane police while his day security may also be withdrawn this week.
Encounter Specialist Ravindra Angre was arrested last year for threatening Wagh at gun point and for forcibly taking his signatures on blank paper.
Wagh, who was building a Rs. 100 crore swimming pool-cum-commercial complex in Thane, was allegedly being forced to accommodate Angre’s wife Dhanashree as a partner in the project.
Angre has been granted bail on a surety of Rs 25,000. The court order must have come as a relief, since his last three bail pleas had been rejected.
A mortally scared Wagh has now demanded he and his family be given security by the Thane police.
Angre packs a mean gun and reputation, having killed more than 40 persons in encounters in his chequered career. Notorious robber and gunman Suresh Manchekar was one of the victims.
